Top 3 Places You Must Take Your Family This Fall
Fall is upon us here in the South, and that means pumpkins, apple cider, and fall festivals. The South knows how to throw a pretty sweet fall festival equipped with jump castles, candied apples, and of course, games for the kids!
Down here in Summerville and Charleston, there is no shortage of fall festivals and fairs to attend from September to November. You will find something to do or somewhere to go every weekend during the fall season - more time out of the house means more kid energy spent! This is what families call a winning situation!
If you’re not familiar with the fall fun we have down here in this area, we have gathered the top 3 places you have to visit this fall season! Now you can’t say you don’t have anything to do on the weekends - there is literally something going on at all times!
#1 - Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch
Boone Hall Plantation is one of the most well-known plantations here in the Charleston area. Located in Mt. Pleasant, Boone Hall is the place to go for all of the major holiday events. Their focus on family and fun truly do create some amazing experiences for all ages. One of their biggest events of the year is the pumpkin patch/corn maze. There is something for every age at Boone Hall’s pumpkin patch. They have tractor rides through the corn maze, inflatable jumping castles for the kids, and food vendors to die for, for the adults. As soon as you enter the front entrance, you are greeted with pumpkins of all shapes and sizes! And of course the entrance is also the exit, so you have more than enough time to decide on which pumpkin to take home with you before you leave. If you’re looking for an awesome time for all of the family, Boone Hall’s pumpkin patch tradition is definitely a must-do! The patch opens September 30th and runs through October 31st and is open all week until 6 pm! Visit their website here to get more info.
#2 - Coastal Carolina Fair
If you’re from Charleston/Summerville/extended areas, you KNOW what the Coastal Carolina Fair is. If you’re not from around here and you’ve been here longer than 5 minutes, you also know what this fair is in the eyes of the entire community. It’s not just a fair with rides and carnival games - it’s a culture, an experience, a must-see/must-do event of the year! Games are fun, rides are even more exciting, and concerts with up-and-coming artists are all highlights of your time at the fair, but what people REALLY love is the food. Fried butter, fried Oreos ® , and pretty much anything else you want fried you can fry can be found at the Coastal Carolina Fair! If fried isn’t really your cup of tea (or you simply like the traditional foods fried like chicken), then maybe cotton candy, candied apples, and hot dogs are more your style. They have that, too! There are art exhibits, farmers with their livestock, and other vendors from all walks of life here at the fair each and every year! Check out their website to get more information about opening day and times.
